Y570 - 802.11n issues

Hello,

 

I just bought a IdeaPad Y570 and everything is going great except for a problem with connecting to my home netowrks 802.11n network. I can't connect to it, laptop won't even see it. Here are some things you should know:

 

1. Two other devices in my home are able to see the SSID being broadcast and are also able to connect to it no problem.

 

2. My laptop can see other 802.11n networks around me (that do not belong to my home network) - It seems like I am able to connect to it, but cannot tell for sure as I do not have access (security code/password) to connect to them.

 

3. My router (Cisco E3000) is capable of transmitting 802.11g and 802.11n at the same time - however I am only able to (perfectly) connect to my routers 802.11g network, but not the 802.11n

 

I have checked the network adapters settings, made sure that 802.11n is set to enable.

 

Any ideas as to what could be causing this
