Y580 Will not boot

Hi, so this problem only came in recently but after I try to update windows 10 on my Y580 and tried to power it up the system would not boot. It seems the laptop is running and the keyboard lights are on but the screen itself remains off or black. The first time it has happen I have been able to use the "remove battery" method to where I remove it and re-insert it back in, this has work the first time when I had this issue but when I had to update windows 10 again the issue returned and I have tried the "remove battery" method but to no avail. I was hoping to get some clarity with this issue, thank you.

Re: Y580 Will not boot

Hi there, VD          -

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

You can also start by flushing out all static, remove battery and AC adaptor and hold down power button for about 15 seconds.

Update us how it goes.

Re: Y580 Will not boot

Hi Shashi_Lenovo, I have tried to flush out the static multiple times but to no avail, I believe it might have to do with my motherboard itself the port for the ram seems to have some issues. I have tried using different ram from my older laptops to see if it would change anything and it just made my laptop turn on and off. Then I tried the lenovo laptop's ram to my older laptop to see if it would boot and it seems to work on the older laptop,I am at a lost.

Re: Y580 Will not boot

Do you get anything on screen if you start the laptop pressing the novo button?

Re: Y580 Will not boot

Its a small button with a curved arrow on it. Usualy found above the keyboard or at the side of the laptop. Powers up the laptop with options to enter bios, recovery or normal boot

Re: Y580 Will not boot

Unfortunately, my warranty is expired so I guess I have to give up on this laptop.

Re: Y580 Will not boot

Remove the hard disk and try to boot again, if you are lucky you will see the lenovo logo (bad disk). If nothing happens, do this: if you have two memory modules, remove one and try to boot, if nothing happens again, reinsert the first one and remove the second one and try to boot (maybe bad ram)
