I recently upgrade my y580 to windows 8. My wireless adapter is always off. When I use the intel diagnostic tool, it said the wireless radio is off.
I attempted to use linux to turn it on, but it still indicated that wireless is truned off by physical switch. Obviously I didn't see any physical switch on the laptop.
Is there a way to get this issue rectified?
Please press "Fn+F5" and check if it switches on. If the issue still persist then install energy management for Windows7 and then press "Fn+F5" and see if WiFi is on.
Another method that can also work is if wireless still shows off, right click on the wireless icon, and choose trouble shoot. Windows can also help turn on the wireless capability.
how can we improve it?
