I was wondering if anyone has purchased a new (Jan 2013) Y580 with Intel Core i7-3630QM and WIndows 8, 8gb, Intel HD 4000 Graphics + Nvidia GTX 660M, 1 TB 5400 RPM
This is marketed as a gaming laptop so I decided to test it out with Crysis 2. The game starts loading okay and then gets to different points within the process and either fails or artifacts start showing up right away and then the video card will stop working. If I force the game to play on the 4000 graphics card it runs just fine but of course frame rate and detail are sacrificed.
I have the latest drivers and have even tried the different Nvidia/Lenovo drivers with the same results. I have tried the free Microsoft flight simulator as well and get the same results. I have been searching the net and everyone seems to point to installing windows 7 and all of their video gaming issues went away.
I don't believe it is the Nvidia card itself but the only way to prove is would be to install windows 7.
Does anyone have a Y580 running windows 8 with a GTX660M, running some higher end games. If so what ver of driver are you using and did you have to make any other laptop config changes?

Welcome in Lenovo forums
Please let me know if you checked the NVidia driver status , whether it's installed properly or not and if there is any error code appears once you checked the status
Waiting for your feedback

Thank you for the response. The driver states that it is working properly and I don't see any errors. In an effort to resolve the issue I have downgraded the driver to an earlier version but have since put back the original driver.
In each case when I look at the driver there are no errors and it is working properly. There is only an issue when trying to use the laptop to do some gaming. In normall operation the diplay works fine.
