Y700-15ISK - Diag error WVC007002-UL7D4J

Good evening,

Lenovo Solution Center just performed an hardware analysis, and a failure was reported during the Intel Graphics HD math test: WVC007002-UL7D4J

It indicates to go to an address that doesn't exist (eticket), so I don't really know what to do.

Previous tests were fine, driver hasn't changed.

Any idea what I should do?

Regards,

Mateos

Re: Y700-15ISK - Diag error WVC007002-UL7D4J

Hi

Greetings .

Your query may be similar to this discussion that you can try

Maybe a false positive detection of the software specially if there is really nothing wrong with the display .

Counter check it with other diagnostic software .

Download related video driver from the support site or directly at Intel but just save it on the desktop not running it.

Uninstall the driver from device manager and update the driver browsing to your downloaded driver.

Re test it using individial diagnostics or couter check with other diagnostic tools similar to this and this.

You may also choose to get the latest LSC version or update your current.

Most updated driver doesn't necessarily be the best, as some found that other versions works better for them.

Update us how it goes.

Regards

Re: Y700-15ISK - Diag error WVC007002-UL7D4J

Hello, and thank you

I ran the Lenovo update software, it just found 2 Lenovo soft updates

I've downloaded the VGA Driver for my system, using my laptop model... but it fails, saying it is not compatible:

http://support.lenovo.com/ca/fr/products/laptops-and-netbooks/ideapad-y-series-laptops/y700-15isk/80...

Intel website hints it's better to use manufacturer drivers than theirs in case, so I'll not try Intel one

I have LSC 3.3.003, latest

I tried to then download a Video Quick Test software from Lenovo, to get a 404 not found:

https://download.lenovo.com/pccbbs/thinkvantage_en/video_card_quick_test_x64_41208665.exe

I acknowledge this is probably a false positive though

Hi Mateos ,

Tried downloading the video test and works ok on my location (retry using this).

Maybe you can try later , usually there are server regional updates.

Would you have the machine number?

What would be your video chipset ?

On other cases , folks have the OEM version fine as other prefer Intel ver 15 or beta .

Anyways it can be case to case basis.

Once you have your preferred version , you can set driver update manually so that Windows update won;t automatically set its own .

Regards

Re: Y700-15ISK - Diag error WVC007002-UL7D4J

Your existing driver may be corrupt, so try the following steps.

  • Download the latest Intel HD Graphics Driver from the Lenovo Website and save it somewhere you can find it easily...

You did not mention what version of Windows you are running, so I will presume you are running Windows 10 since the Y700-15ISK support page only has a Windows 10 32/64-bit  version available.

Once you are sure you have downloaded the correct driver, you can first try to just install it, but if the problem persists, try the following steps to remove the existing driver completely, and re-install the new driver from scratch.    Sometimes the drivers will get corrupted, and unless you completely uninstall/reinstall them, Windows will just ignore any attempts to reinstall the same version, and just continue to use the one already installed..

  1. Right Click on Start and select Device Manager
  2. From the Device Manager Window, double-click on Display Adapters to show the installed video cards.
  3. Right Click on the Intel HD Graphics card and select Uninstall
  4. On the Confirm Device Uninstall  window, check the box to "Delete the driver software for this device".
  5. Reboot
  6. Run the Intel HD Graphics installers you downloaded earlier and follow the prompts.

Your screen will look funny, probably very large, after you uninstall the graphics card driver, but once you reinstall the latest driver it should be OK, and hopefully will then pass the test.

If the test still fails after reinstalling the latest driver, try uninstalling/reinstalling the Lenovo Solutions Center, but if that fails, you probably should call Lenovo Support.

Good Luck,

Mateos

Re: Y700-15ISK - Diag error WVC007002-UL7D4J

Hello,

Yes sorry, Windows 10 x64 ^^'

The link worked that time, thank you @spidey101, and the math error was still there

So I tried to uninstall, reboot then install the downloaded driver as @JDGillis suggested, and now the math test works!

Thank you both of you for your help!

I'm not quite sure if I should mark a post as a solution, since it's the whole process which helped ^^'

Regards,

Re: Y700-15ISK - Diag error WVC007002-UL7D4J

Hi Mateos ,

Assuring that you have updated LSC (2 software updates) allows its version to smoothly work as it has been reported among users although would show clear on other diagnostic test as advised on service tips on highlighted linked discussions .

"Uninstall the driver from device manager and update the driver browsing to your downloaded driver."

From the same support driver website , yours may still be experiencing re directions (ex. error 404).

Best thing here is that the issue is resolved but don't forget to  set driver update manually so it would not be changed automatically during the monthly windows update.

Please don't hesitate to visit and share your ideas with fellow members here on our community at anytime.

Best luck to your endeavors.

Regards
