Y700 Large Recovery Volume

2016-06-17, 19:46 PM

A few weeks ago I sent in my Y50 for repairs. They didn't have the parts needed so they sent me a Y700 to replace it. Now the problem is that it would seem this has two harddrives; a 1TB HDD and a 128GB SSD. Everything windows related is installed on the SSD but the SSD has barely any space on it. I can only use 94.2GB of the drive, most of which is already being used by system files or preinstalled software. I was in disk manager formatting an external drive when I noticed a few volumes. There are two recovery partitions and one is 22.78GB however it says that all of these extra volumes are empty.

I cannot shrink the large recovery volume and am confused as to why it's saying it's empty. Not sure what to do or what's safe so any advice is appreciated.

Don't make any changes in the partitions because it can bricked the One Key Recovery feature. Yes you will see so many partitions but they are needed by the OS and the OKR. If you use other third party partition software you will see more partitions than using Disk Managemenagement.
