Z410 Touchpad is not working after upgrade to Windows 10

Hi,

I have the Z410 (2 years old) and since the upgrade to Windows 10, the TouchPad is not working!!

  • I have updated the driver with no chance to get it working.
  • Used Lenovo Solution Center, scanned Hardware and nothing is showing a missing hardware or driver.
  • From Device Manager it shows no missing hardware.
  • From Settings > Devices > Mouse & Touchpad ... The touchpad tab shows its there with this version (Alps Touch Pad - 8.201.1611.252)

Any tips?

Dear oabushaban,

Welcome to lenovo community,

Please try the below,

A:

1- Open control Panel >> Hardware and Sound >> Mouse

2- From Mouse Properties window >> Click Device Settings, and check if the touchpad is disabled or not.

B:

Try to fully uninstall the touchpad driver from the device manager, and install the below link

https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles/0rww01af.exe

Regards,

Joseph

Re: Z410 Touchpad is not working after upgrade to Windows 10

Hi Jospeh,

This driver is exactly the one I used already.

Initnially when I tried to install it, it gave me a message that my installed driver is newer than this one.

Still I completed the driver installation and its not working!

from Device Manager, I don't see anything related to touchpad though!

Dear oabushaban,

Could you please attach a screenshot from your device manager.

And what about Mouse properties have you found Device settings. (Solution A).

Regards,

Joseph

Try to not connect to the internet. So if you have wifi place it to airplane mode. If you have ethernet, disconnect the cable. Then uninstall the driver in device manager. Select delete if presented with this option. Then install the driver. Note: if you are using Win 8.1 just go ahead with the installation. However, if you are using Win 10 try to install the driver in compatibility mode. Check without connecting to internet if the problem still exist. If no, then you may have to set windows update to disable to prevent Windows from installing a newer update automatically.

Re: Z410 Touchpad is not working after upgrade to Windows 10

Dear oabushaban,

Kindly try the below,

1- Download the driver from Lenovo website.
2- Right-click on the driver setup file and click on ‘properties’.
3- Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows 8 operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation. Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the issue persists.

Regards,
Joseph
