Its same problem .. few notes:
1) When I re-installed the driver on compatibility mode, it gave me an alert that existing driver is newer than this.
2) See attached screens, the touchpad is installed. However, its not detected at all, and machine is not catching is as missing h/w!
Any last resport for this?

It would be as a part of resolution process.
You will go back >> check if the touchpad is working >> run system recovery >> install all windows updates >> then upgrade again to windows 10.

I am not trying to be helpless on this. This what I did before coming to Windows 10.
I was on Win 8 > installed all updates > upgraded to Win 8.1 > installed all updates and everything was perfect for 6 weeks > upgraded to Win 10
Are you referring to go back and repeat this?
I still believe there should be a solution avoiding this! Or you may advise if there a way to connect with some Lenovo experts who can have live session on my machine.

We have tried all the available solutions but it did not help, so we need to try going back to the previous windows to check if it is a compatibility issue or not.
