Z410 wouldn't boot!

[ Edited ]

Hello,

I have this habit of sometime puting my laptop into sleep or hibernate mood. So, that's what I did last time when I used my laptop Z410. Last night, I picked up my laptop and turned it on. It started up fine. The user login screen of windows 8.1 also loaded fine. The battery level was above 50%. Then, I connected my charger and the laptop, all of sudden, died.

Now it does not boot up. Nothing happens when I press the power button. There's also no indication for charging. I checked voltage of my charger and it seems to be fine.

Anyone have an idea of what might be the cause?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Andyy,

Welcome to the Forums.

As per the query we understood that you are facing issue with system not booting in your Lenovo Z410 laptop.

Try to charge the battery for sometime and try to power on the system, also check with different adapter. If still the issue persist then it might be issue with the motherboard please visit the nearest service center.

Click here to open a link where you can select the country and get the exact contact support number. I’m sure they will be a great help.

Hope this helps. Do post back if the issue persists!

Best regards,

Re: Z410 wouldn't boot!

Hello Ashwin_lenovo,

Thank you for such a quick reply.

I have tried everything you suggested, but still no progress. Is there anything else that you would like to recommend?

Also my laptop is in warranty, but I am out of country at the moment that is why I can't bring it to a service center. So, i would like to ask if opening the back cover of my laptop to access battery would void the warranty?

Re: Z410 wouldn't boot!

Hi Andyy,

Yes if the back cover of the laptop is opened the warranty of the system will be void, as I mentioned in earlier post can you check with other adapter and also try to charge the laptop for some time and try to power on the laptop. This model has a international warranty services. As you have mentioned you are out of the country contact the support for the service center in that particular region.

Click here for the list of countries supported.

Best regards,

Re: Z410 wouldn't boot!

Where can we find a battery to replace the Laptop's original. I seem to have the same problem. I removed the battery and plugged in the charger and my laptop came on fine. So, I think I need to buy a new battery, right?

Re: Z410 wouldn't boot!

Most likely, corrupt BIOS, like what I suspect happened to my Lenovo Z410.
