Z50-70 camera issues

Hi!!

I am trying to find out where to change a camera setting. For some reason when I try and take a picture or do a video for emails the picture looks like it is in heat-seeking mode, lol. It is very strange and I cannot find any settings that change a filter like this in any of the camera settings. Thanks in advance for any help!!

Re: Z50-70 camera issues

Hi Jai9,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Have you tried using a third party software like Skype or Facebook video call to see if you will have the same camera issue? Also, try to uninstall and reinstall the camera driver on your laptop and download the latest driver using the link below depending on your current OS.

Windows 7 - https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/LAPTOPS-AND-NETBOOKS/LENOVO-Z-SERIES-LAPTOPS/LENOVO-Z50-...

Windows 8.1 - https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/LAPTOPS-AND-NETBOOKS/LENOVO-Z-SERIES-LAPTOPS/LENOVO-Z50-...

Windows 10 - https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/LAPTOPS-AND-NETBOOKS/LENOVO-Z-SERIES-LAPTOPS/LENOVO-Z50-...

Let us know how it goes.

Regards,

Re: Z50-70 camera issues

Hi! Thank you for your reply.  I have tried using other sites to make a video and it literally looks like it is in heat-seeking mode.  lol. I tried to uninstall the camera app and it won't let me uninstall it. I did install the driver for Windows 10 but it didn't change anything. How do I uninstall it when it won't let me or how do I change the filter if it got stuck? Or how do I change which camera app it picks?? Thanks

Re: Z50-70 camera issues

Can you take a screenshot of the exact error message when you try to uninstall the camera driver. Also, are you trying to uninstall the driver in Device Manager?

I'm not sure if you already used the listed website below to test the camera on your laptop.

https://www.onlinemictest.com/webcam-test/

https://webcamtests.com/

It could be two things possible hardware malfunction or driver related issue. In order to determine what exactly is causing the issue let's try to fix the driver by making sure that we've uninstalled it.

Re: Z50-70 camera issues

Thank you so much for your help! That being said, my camera is working just fine, just with that **bleep** filter(those websites you sent say they are fine as well). The only camera anything listed on my laptop is the Camera App from Windows, it doesn't give me an error there is just no way to uninstall it. It has a button but the button doesn't do anything. Like it's not highlighted either.  I typed in Easy camera driver and all and just get websites. So I don't know what to do next or what I am doing wrong. Thanks!!

Re: Z50-70 camera issues

Maybe the question is where do I go to uninstall it? Is it different than the camera app on the laptop?  That way maybe i can find the right thing.. and do I have to add as a default app?
