I have had amy laptop for a few years and it has always charged well - after using it whilst I was away it sudenly stopped charging when in use. It still charges when in standby mode or when turned off but not when I am using it. When the charger is plugged in I get this error message "the power adaptor does not matchup with the computer and cannot supply power Buy" it obviously works to charge and is the original power supply supplied with the laptop so I am reluctant to replace it. I wonder if it is a software issue - Any suggestions and ideas greatfully recieved.

Thanks for using the Lenovo forums.
I would suspect the charger is failing on you.
Check the HMM on page 21, this could help you walk through to test the charger to make sure it outputs the correct voltage.
Also, you could test the charger on another unit if you have access to that.
If there is trouble with the charger, then just a simple replacement should be able to fix the problem.
If nothing else works, then it may be worth following it up with your local Lenovo support line for help.
