Z500: Replacing DVD drive with SSD

Hi there. I recently purchased an OCZ ARC 100 SSD and would like to replace the DVD drive so I don't have to use the orginal HDD externally. However the SSD doesn't seem to fit the connector that the DVD drive was installed into.

Online research has led me to believe that the connector from DVD drive and the SSD should both be standard SATA ports. Do I need an additional adaptor or is what I'm proposing not possible?

Thanks in advance

Re: Z500: Replacing DVD drive with SSD

hi maxy239,

Welcome to the Forums.

What you need is an HDD Caddy to accommodate the SSD on the ODD slot as others have already tried this on their Z500.

Good luck on your upgrade!
