Re: Memory Upgrade

Hi Ammar,

Welcome to Lenovo Forums.

You can go through the Hardware maintenance manual for detailed information of your laptop.

If you have valid warranty, I would suggest you better to contact Lenovo support for replacement as soon as possible before you harm yourself or your computer.

Hence please visit to nearest service center for hardware assistance.

Note: As per the Lenovo policy, the warranty will be void if the laptop is dismantled by yourself. Hence requesting you to be careful on doing any changes to the system.

Hope this helps. Let us know how you get on.

Regards,

Shashi Kumar

Re: Memory Upgrade

I have sent it with extra 8GB ram to MAS egypt (Egypt service center) and they accept to install mermory but with  150 EGP as charge.

is it right to charge me for installtion? i can do it by my self but i worried about the warranty.

Thanks

Re: Memory Upgrade

Hi Ammar,

Welcome to Lenovo Forums. Sorry for delayed response.

The 8 GB would nearly cost you around 47$ in the market. However you can refer to this link for more details.

I would suggest you better to contact Lenovo support for replacement since you might viod the warranty if you dismantled the system on your own.

Hope this helps. Let us know how you get on.

Regards,

Shashi Kumar

Re: Memory Upgrade

As I have opened mine many times. I don't recommend doing so. It is not an easy one and it can be easily broken. Now that that is out of the way do you know which way you are at 8gb 2 or 1 stick. If just 1 the upgrade is simple and I recommend sticking to identical brand ram as this laptop has already this system has issue with faster ram or ram that is not explicit to the system. I bought 2133mhz 16gb to upgrade latency if not speed and my laptop would not boot with the ripjaws ram... The only tamper evident sticker on the system is on one of the hdd screws. So unless someone at Lenovo checks the original order to see it was supposed to only have 8gb it will be undetectable...
