Z510 Battery capacity shown as 629Wh instead of 48Wh after a gauge reset

I have done a gauge recently but since then it shows battery capacity as 629Wh! That's even more than 10 times of original 48 Wh. There has been steep  decline in battery backup since then and get about 3 hrs without wifi, which earlier used to be more than 4 hrs.

Several times I retried gauge reset but it has been of no use...

I would double check your readings against another program like HWMonitor.  Here is a link to that free program. The program comes in two versions, an installable one or a portable one that can put on a flash drive.

Re: Z510 Battery capacity shown as 629Wh instead of 48Wh after a gauge reset

From the erroneous readings with two different battery monitoring utilities I'm suspecting that your battery is slowly starting the fail.  This latest reading with HWMonitor even indicates a 95% wear rate which is very high.  If it were me, I would just use the battery normally till it finally dies and needs replacing.  I would also avoid doing anymore resets as that is only stressing the battery more.

This thing is in warranty but our great lenovo isn't willing to accept that saying that "energy manager is still showing battery status as healthy" ...!

i think you wrong

original           Designed Capacity : 48000 mWh
Bad (wrong) Designed Capacity: 629750 mWh (Why go above)

Full Charged Capacity: 36900 mWh (it is right)

now look 36900/629750 *100 =5.86 %

100%-5.86% =94.14= 95% (wrong Wear level )

but

36900/48000 *100 = 76.875 %

100%-76.875% = 23.125% (the real wear level) and battey live about 2.5 hr

i need to know why design capacity change from 48000 to 629750 (go above)
