I ordered the Z570 (part number 10244SU) with i7-2670qm from Lenovo Canada site back on Nov 11, 2011. It was estimated to be shipped in 2 weeks when I ordered it, the order status showed the 25/11/11 as the "estimated ship" all along. Nov 25 came and gone but the status stayed at "In Process". When I checked this morning (Nov 26), the Estimated Ship date shows 31/12/12. That is Dec 12, 2012.
What the hack is going on? What is the point for that? By then the i8 or i9 would have been released.
Unless they revise the date comes Monday (Nov 28) morning, I think I am going to call the administrative support directly. Either they give me a new reasonable estimate ship date or I am just going to cancel it. The price of CAN$729 looked good but not good enough to wait ONE (1) year for it.

Are the shipping dates for Australia order just as crazy?
I know of the Thai flood problem, it is driving up the hdd prices. However other online manufacturer (eg. Dell) seems to be handling it better. They are still promising "ship in 48 hrs" or "ship by Dec 6" in their deals. Either they have different sources or huge stockpile of hdd which may explain their laptops are not as cheap as some of the recent Lenovo deals. If you take a look at the shipping estimates given for some of the Thinkpad lines, they are still calling for the 7-9 days time frame. Are they making it up?
I guess there should be no issue if I choose to cancel it since the laptop is not where near ready for shipping.
P.S. The Z570 deal I took was strong in many departments but it has 2 downsides: a 5400rpm hdd and no lcd resolution upgrade. I can live with that for $729 because it is cheaper than the rest.

For non pre-built systems the order have been pushed to Jan next year.
Dell's current shipping date is not accurate either, some of the hdd that they have listed are also not available when you place the order.
