A few times in the last few days my wifes Z570 has failed to start after hibernation. She has selected hibernate either from the start menu or by closing the lid - lid switch set to hibernate rather than sleep. When she powers up, the system lights come on, but the screen remains blank indefinitely. Pressing and holding the power button will power down. Powering up again can produce the same end result, a blank screen, for several iterations. Eventually after several attempts the computer has restarted, from hibernation rather than with a fresh windows boot. The computer is running W7 64 pro, BIOS is version 36. Can anyone help?

Unfortunately I have got the same situation with my new Lenovo U400. After stendby state when I want to switch the laptop on nothing happens. The leds are lighting, I hear the HDD and the cooilng but the display is blank, and I have to repeat the switching on cycle 3-4-5..10 times. (sometimes during I'm using the laptop I get a bleu screen, count down, and some second later restart...during the laptop using. Aproximately one blue screen / day) I installed all of Windows Update, all of fresh Lenovo drivers (instead of bios, I can't find it)
I think it needs a Windows hotfix or a BIOS update but the "wonderful" Smart Downloading V2.1 (http://consumersupport.lenovo.com/ot/en/SmartDownloading/index.html?Lang=en) doesn't work like the similar application ThinkVantage System Update too (http://support.lenovo.com/en_IN/downloads/detail.page?LegacyDocID=TVSU-UPDATE). Message: "There are no applicable packages found for your system". So I don't have workable application for the easily updateing only I have a blank display after stendby.
Did anybody find a solution for this problem??? How can I update may BIOS? I can't see it on the customersupport.lenovo.com at my driver list.

Thanks for your advice yigit. Sadly before I had the opportunity to flash the BIOS and update the drivers, the laptop failed completely, with no lights showing and no response at all to the power button. Given that it is only 3 weeks old I suspect it always had a latent defect. Lenovo sent a courier to collect it for warranty repair a couple of days ago.

I am also facing the same issue i.e. my Laptop z570 is not responding at all after wake up from either Hibernation or from standby.
Recently, I have upgraded my BIOS using the BIOS update provided on Lenovo's Customer Support website.
I am sure that I have updated my BIOS iwth BIOS upgrade created for Z570(1024)
I have gone through all topics on this forum but could not get any help. Is there any way to recover the original BIOS?
One more weired thing I noticed that... My NVIDIA GeFore Graphics card is now not getting detected,
I tried to set "OPTIMUS" from BIOS, I used the switch provide on front side of the Laptop to switch the grpahics card...
But nothing is happening...
Laptop is using OnBoard Graphics only. And the White LED adjecent to the Graphics switch is always "ON".
And when I change BIOD setting to "UMA Only" for Grpahics options, then the Graphics switch LED get "OFF" all the time.
Cna you please help me in this?
Thanks & Regards,
