Z580 - Does Windows 8 complete reset erase Lenovo recovery partition

2012-11-06, 14:45 PM

Having some troubles with an upgrade to Windows 8 and just wondering about my options to revert back to Windows 7.

Computer is almost brand new with no "personal" information on it.

In Win 8 PC Settings screen, there is an option to "Refresh Windows 8" or "Reset your PC and start over".

Within, "Reset", there are two choices to reset "Thoroughly" if you're giving it away/recycle or "Quickly" if you're keeping it to preserve personal data/files.

This wouldnt harm the recovery partition at any cost. Just to ask was win 8 preinstalled or you installed? If you have installed okr might not work. Just a suggestion you might make tecovery cds also.

I installed Win 8 and I think OKR was removed during that process or doesn't work.

And the recovery partition is intact? If it is you could try recovering it.
Onw key wont work now but recovering is still a chance
