I tried what you suggested. Uninstalled realtek and dolby , rebooted. and then updated the driver through device manager(by directing the c/drivers/realtek...) . Unfortunately the problem is still here.
Also I have noticed that this problem also occurs when I boot to windows 7 . My laptop has windows 7 and 8. Windows 8 is my default os.
Yeah the z580 does have separate ports for Mic and earphones. I am using an audio/mic splitter with the headphones.
By the way I don't know if that helps but the headphones are a klipsch s4i II.
Also, the splitter works fine with with the windows 8 and 7default drivers. It also used to work fine with realtek but then it stopped working for no reason.

I'm not sure now what really causing this issue on your system,
One more thing i may suggest,
Go to sound properties and to the recording tab
right click on the microphone that shows there and choose properties
There will be an enhancement tab put a check on the box that says disable all enhancement.
Do this on all microphone that show under recording and see what happened.
If this still does not work, I would suggest to try other microphone and see if same thing happened.
