Z70-80 80FG "Restart to repair drive errors"

For the last couple of years, I've had very little trouble with this laptop. Recently, I've noted a couple of times that I'll get an error popup in the Windows 10 Action Center, saying "Restart to repair drive errors."

On restart, a Lenovo screen pops up with a progress report and starts Windows normally after that.

I haven't changed any startup/sleep/shutdown habits, and I've run the Western Digital full drive scan, only to find nothing wrong.

Any idea what this might be or if my HDD is on the way out?

Hi LoneWolffe,

Thanks for posting your issue in the forum.

The app Lenovo Companion will check your unit and will find out if you should update any driver.

If this does not work I would perform a factory reset, this would discard any driver issue and you would have a clean OS installation.

Regards.

I guess I can try that, I just hope that this doesn't mean my hard drive is going to die when I need it most.
