Z70-80 Win10 Home windows signon won't go away

I do not want the initial windows login, the one that appears directly after power up.  Netplwiz is blank where asking if users should be required to login.  Login is disabled in some other place (I forget ) as well.  Yet I have to enter my name and a PIN every time this powers up.  Please steer me to place this can be permanently disabled.  Thanks~

Hi tallpall,

Greetings.

You can try the steps here or even use auto log-in tools like here.

Update us how it goes.

Regards

Re: Z70-80 Win10 Home windows signon won't go away

Thank you Spidey for the direction.  I am inconfident enough in my ability to bail myself out of consequences of doing a regedit that I won't do that path.  Did run the autologin tool and it has successfully brought me back to a state of having to enter just a pin.  Prior to that I had a screen where I needed to choose a method to signon, enter my name and then a pin.

Running the autologin tool always first displays itself as "enabled".  I chg this to disable and it acknowledges it, yet I still have to enter a pin to open the pc.

Several times this has booted up to a screen where it asks for the main windows password.  Alt, cntl, del and reboot will usually restore it to just asking for the pin.  This happens often enough that I am tempted to think this must happen to all windows users.

I have decided to just live with having to enter a pin.  thanks again for your help.
