adding ssd to lenovo y500

i have lenovo y500 without ssd

 

i need to add ssd 128 g to us it as system drive

 

so does there is a place to add it 

or must replace it in the space of hdd hard

 

also i need to keep recovery and the orginal windows which came with to laptop

 

when i use recovery cap recovery

 

can i make recovery for ssd only

Welcome to the Forums.

 

Yes there's an mSATA SSD slot on the Ideapad Y500. See this article as a reference. This is an ideal setup if you're planning to have an HDD+mSATA SSD. As for keeping the OneKey Recovery feature, you can try to clone/migrate the HDD to the mSATA SSD, boot from it and then observe.

 

If you're already on Windows 8.1, you can follow this guide on how to create a recovery drive. Alternatively, you can also use EaseUS ToDo Backup as a disaster recovery method.
