Alert me | Edit | Delete | Change type Question You cannot vote on your own post 0 hello i am using a lenovo ideapad z580-3 rd generation i5 laptop(4 gb ram) i have this issue of blue screen error from 3 months it started when i updated my display driver, after getting a error or two i immediately reinstalled the operating system(windows 8) then the problem ceased for two weeks or so then again it started but it became frequent and my laptop eventually stopped working. i cant even get the display so it was obvious that my ram is not working ..then i consulted lenovo service centre they repaced my mother board and ram it worked fine for a week then i again today i faced the blue screen error again i am afraid the error may become frequent again and my laptop wont work i cant figure out what is possibly causing the error-i mean even after replacing ram and mother board how can it not stop my laptop actually came with windows 7 and and i upgraded to windows 8 for your information also the error i received was different each time please help me

Hi chiru10,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

I’m sorry to hear that there is BSOD (Blue Screen Error Of Death) error occurring in the computer even after the Ram, Motherboard is replaced and the OS (Operating System) is re-installed, performing BIOS reset should resolve the issue and also scan the HDD (Hard Disk Drive) for any bad sectors.

  • Shut down the computer completely.
  • Then press the Novo button and then select BIOS Setup (Click here for BIOS simulation).
  • Then to reset the BIOS to its defaults click on “F9” Key and select YES.
  • Now Click on “F10” Key to safe the changes that are done in BIOS, restart the computer and check if the issue is resolved.

NOTE: Click here to download the user guide for Z580 Laptop and refer page no. 2 and locate the NOVO button.

  • Scan the HDD using : HD TuneIf the issue persists even after performing the BIOS reset, I would Strongly Suggest Calling Technical Support for Assistance.

Click here to open a link where you can select the country and get the exact contact support number.I’m sure they will be a great help.

Hope this helps!!!

Do post us back if issue persists again

Best Regards

Shiva Kumar
