how to disable audio jack

My son broke off the headphone jack inside my laptap.  Now my computer thinks that the headphones are in and I can't hear sound anywhere  I took the back off and it's part of the motherboard, so I guess I won't be using headphones with this computer anymore, but I would like some sound backd.  Any ideas how I can disable the audio jack?  Or if anyone has any ideas on how to get the piece out of the audio jack, I'm desperate!

Re: how to disable audio jack

Dear Mamalam

Welcome in lenovo community

It'll be best to install Realteks Audio Drivers, once you have installed the driver you will be able to enter the options and settings of the driver (Located bottom right under the little arrow, looks like another little Browny coloured Speaker) This will give you options such as "Disable front audio panel detection." This is what you'll want, it will then simutaniously play audio through all devices currently in use. If you are using a HDMI cable and you have the ability to switch between the Speaker or HDMI audio settings, then you're in luck. Bottom right, right click the speaker, click playback devices, then see if you have the use of another device, if so highlight it by clicking it and then choose to make default click apply/ok and then you should be able to have sound from the other device.

Let me know

Thanks

Alaa

Re: how to disable audio jack

Same problem, I can't disable the headphone jack with Realtek drivers. I will try to somehow disconnect the headphone jack from the motherboard.
