how to force high performance switchable graphics on battery power

I'm trying to force my Y470p to not throttle down the GPU when its not plugged in.

Right now my Switchable Graphics Method is manual and I have the High Performance GPU selected.

I've tried:

Changing the power options in windows to high performance

Changing advanced power options for "ATI PowerPlay settings" to Maximize Performance in both CCC and windows

Turning off PowerPlay
Changing the Lenovo Energy Management to high performance

None of that worked.  If I load up Diablo III I get about 50 FPS when plugged in.  Unplugging drops me down to 20, and it goes back up to 50 if I plug it in again.

No offence, but why would you want to play when its not plugged in anyway?  You would run the battery down so fast it wouldn't be worth the effort of starting up the game.

Re: how to force high performance switchable graphics on battery power

If I am not wrong, your laptop battery is not able to provide enough power to run all components at maximum performance. Maybe when your laptop is unplugged, you could adjust the Diablo 3 settings lower to compensate.

Have a nice day! :smileytongue::smileyhappy::smileyvery-happy:
