I have an ideapad z510 which I have been using without any problems for the last 2 and a half years or so.
For the last few weeks, it won't turn on if it's unplugged: the lights under the keyboard turn on for a brief moment, so does the power button, but then it all stops.
When I plug it in, the first time I press the button it doesn't turn on either (same behaviour as when unplugged) but on the second attempt it turns on propperly.
Once running, I can unplug it and it will keep working propperly.
What could be going wrong? How could I fix it?
For your interest: I cannot (easily) remove the battery, in case that matters.
Thank you for your help

Welcome to the Community Forums.
You can start with the power check out guide from the hardware manual (page 21-22) testing on the integrity of the AC adapter and operational charging to isolate.
Further steps may require certain tools and skill as board level checking (power board , systemboard ports and chips etc.), so it would be best that you take time to back up your data while you can and check on your local service center.

Hi spidey101, thank you for your attention!
It doesn't seem to be the charger, as the laptop charges without any problem, and keeps working when unplugged, so battery doesn't seem to be the issue either.
I can't find a Lenovo service center in Spain for my ideapad Z510, so I'll have to take it somewhere else. I hope they are able to fix it!
Any way, it's a poor performance for me: less than 3 years and problems appear? Not what I expect from Lenovo, quite honestly.

We hope that this is not a grounding issue with the systemboard and would just be a minor power board issue.
Do update us how things go with the sesrvice center.
