ideapad Z570 - screen gone purple/pink

hello ,

i am using ideapad Z570 , windows7

yesterday i was working on the pc suddenly the screen turn purple/pink awkwardly . i shut it down and then few minute after i started it . it started with a system repair . afterward its  working but the screen remain purple/pink except few mm on the top of the screen . there is a dark pink line just 9mm below the top of the screen horizontally . above this line the screen is fine that is merely 10% of screen but below this line the full 90% screen is purple/pink.

moreover  this color changes it intensity  ,

for example,  as i right click on the desktop the tab opens as it in windows ,, some dark purple/pink vertical line appears in the part of the tab through out the screen vertically except the top part what i have mentioned earlier . remaining desktop is less purple/pink.

OR as i open a drive ,(the folders within the drive is in small icon pattern) , dark purple/pink lining  appears over the folders . seen like fringe over the screen . if i have 4 folder in the drive there are 4 such fringe over these folders and the remaining part of the screen is less pink. ( except the top)

AS i open a folder , (let it contents some songs and sowing in 'details' pattern ), the dark purple/pink vertical lining across the screen (except top 9mm part) appears over icon of the song and the name , title , album ,etc ,, i mean where there are letters the lining appears.

OR i open notepad  the lining comes over the tab names (e.i: file, edit, format, view, help) ,, if i write something lining comes over the letters , all across the screen except that top part.

i dont have any extra graphics card or like that .. i just have installed intel hd graphics driver.

please suggest what to do , how could i get rid of this problem?

(i am not in warranty period)

Re: ideapad Z570 - screen gone purple/pink

Hi samanta ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Try to connect the laptop to any external monitor. This would isolate LCD /LCD cable issue from a graphic card /driver as line may also appear.

Try it on safe mode. Doing this would then isolate application or drivers issue.

Access BIOS setup tapping on F2 on restart and see if lines or discoloration appears . This confirms possible non Windows /drivers issue posible for LCD specially if lines and discoloration are triggered with changes in LCD angle or laptop positions.

Update us how things go.

Regards

Seems like the lcd cable is damaged or may be a loose connection

Re: ideapad Z570 - screen gone purple/pink

Hi samanta ,

Greetings.

As it shows , discoloration and lines is limited to lcd screen/ cable as external is ok but actual screen have the issue even on BIOS making it non driver or operating system related.

You would need to have it checked on nearest service center or call in tech support for in warranty repair.

It may help simply reseating the cable but it's certain that a hardware fix is needed.

Regards
