ideapad y430 - vista 64 - intel 5100 does not connect to secured wireless

2009-08-09, 0:14 AM

I have vista 64 on ideapad y430 and AVG antivrus. No firewall other than windows firewall.

The intel 5100 wifi card does not connect to secured wireless network but connects to unsecured wireless.

This was working before 2 months without any issues on both.

Not sure what I changed after that.

i did the following troubleshooting so far but no help:

- 1st uninstalled Readycomm. Did not help.

- 2nd Reinstalled the intel driver after uninstalling/deleting the driver. Did not help.

- 3rd installed the latest intel driver from Intel 12.4.0.0. this did not help.

- 4th installed the one previous driver 12.2.0.0. this did not help.

I tried with all secure options and does not work with any of these: WEP or WPA/TKIP or WPA/AES or WPA2/AES.

Just to make sure the hardware has no issues. I did dual-boot on XP and it connects fine to both secured and unsecured wireless networks.

So the issue seems to be only on Vista Home Premium 64.

Any help would be appreciated.
