Now there's an odd set of keys to malfunction!

There are ALT codes and keyboard testers that may help. They may show a software issue. Maybe keyboard mapping.

If the keys are phyically not working under Windows I'd try a boot CD such as a Live Linux. Just to see if those keys function OK with a differrent OS. If they do then possibly software or code page setting. If not possibly phyical issue that may need keyboard replacment!

Check Keyboard, Ease of Access Center and Region and Language in Control Panel.

Possibly Roll back to a previous restore point, if available.

I've tried PassMark Keyboard Tester (free evaluation). It's simple and just shows keypress and values.

Using AT107 + Mouse + Modified layout on Acer One (no keypad)

Keys 0 to 9 results are Windows Keycode 48 (0x30) to 57 (0x39) inclusive.

Hi jsaab, new to forum but thought I'd give my thoughts as I had a Y570.

Could do with knowing which buttons malfunction and in which apps.

It could be phyiscal ware,  such as the gamer keys WASD or the direction keys.

It could be a temperature problem with malfunction happening after a certain uptime.

If all keys feel OK and the same to type with then possibly a software problem. Try typing all keys into notepad and see if all produce correct alph-numerical characters.

But do need to know which keys or key combos and in which apps :)
