lenovo ideapad z510 hibernate and sleep problem

2017-08-15, 17:01 PM

Hello everyone!

Details:

I have a ipdeapad (z510) and windows 8.1 as os.(I use the latest BIOS version)

Problem:

when i sleep or hibernate laptop , the power (ac and battery both)  suddenly cut off ,and after that the power button and front LEDs not working both.(the laptop actually dies and won't turn on).

my solution:

Fortunately I find a way to fix this problem but its nit the best.

disassemble the laptop (open the bottom of it ) and unplug the battery and ac power and plug them again. that work , but it's realy difficult to do this proccess.

my guess:

I think this problem can related to bios.

please help me to fix this problem.

Thanks!

Hello Mgmdbsh

Thanks for using the Lenovo forums.

Is this a recent issue, or has this been happening for a long time now?

Were there any recent Windows updates perhaps?

Try a static discharge for this, it may help to resolve the issue or at least get rid of any built up static on the motherboard.

(If the battery is internal, please just skip the remove/replace battery steps.)
1. Turn the unit off
2. Remove the battery and the Mains adapter
3. Press and hold the front power button for 30 seconds
4. Replace the battery and the Mains adapter
5. Turn the unit on as normal

Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.
