i tried dying light on my y50-70
with air conditioner off:
GPU: 86-88 degrees
with air conditioner on:
GPU: 77-81 degrees
CPU: 80-83 degreed
Is this normal temp? and if it isn't what is the normal temp of this laptop while gaming?

It depends on a few factors -
1) Ambient temp
2) Graphics Quality
3) Any background processes running
4) Laptop Cooler is used or not
If your ambient temp is more than 28C, then yeah your laptop will run quite hot.
Reduction of Graphics Quality can help bring down temps to some extent.
I would recommend using air conditioning and a GOOD laptop cooler to help with the temps.
I have the Y510P and last summers when the ambient temp was going >32C, my laptop temps were going as high as 92 in Dragon Age Inquisition even with a laptop cooler.
Let me know what is your ambient temp, I think that can give some idea. Either way, 90 is high.

In short - I do not recommend playing at that high temp.
Long answer - It won't send sparks flying but the components will lose efficiency and can be damaged over a period of time. How much time? Can be 6 months, 1 year, 2 years - It all depends on how much you play.
Heat is an enemy of computers. The cooler you can run them, the better.
My current temps, due to all the tweaks/modifications, do not exceed 80 while gaming. GPU - max 78 , CPU - max 81
