Hi' have you able to make it work? i just got my screen from laptopscreen.com and it didnt work, theres a backlight but no picture on the screen. I placed a support ticket on them and i was advised to get Full HD cable for it too, sadly they dont stock cables.

Wow, now why did you do that?
First of all, why you didn't try and contact Lenovo for support and try replacing your laptop. I am sure in good faith they would have given you a solution. Moreover, with the FHD version you would have received more items in the laptop within that $100.
Now, my opinion would also be to return that FHD screem, if you can, to save some money and buy a monitor that would cost you a little more than $100. I really feel bad for you and your decision making.

Now, that is a wise decision. I had done it with my Lenovo Y560, all of which models had 1366*768 screen.
My Y510p is also connected to my 32" TV for maximum gaming enjoyment.

I have a desktop connected to 1440p screen for maximum gaming enjoyment THAT is a wise decision

A desktop can be connected to anything since it doesnt have a screen of its own. And well, if you have money lying around obviously you can spend it on a screen which is $1000 upwards.
You can also buy the Lenovo Y50 when it comes out since that will also feature 1440p screen. I think fhd gaming is pretty awesome at the moment, dont know how 1440p is improving gaming experience unless the screen itself is more than 42" atleast.
