I have always used a Lenovo laptop, previously Y560 for 3 years.
Now I own a Y510p and I am pretty happy with Lenovo.
If I had to recommend a solid brand with good durability I would recommend Dell but it is far expensive than Lenovo.

If you got the money, its your laptop to sell.
I just sold my Y560 for $550 which was 3 years old, I am not sure why would you want to sell your new Y510p for half the price. I think you can easily get around 70% of the cost.
Y50 is a good choice, it looks really high end.
N550JK is also good, it all depends on what price and specs you choose.
Personally, I use my laptop connected to an external monitor so the screen does not matter that much to me. Also, there is marginal difference between 1920*1080p and 1366*768p which does not bother me much. If you cannot ignore the screen and you use it a lot, then maybe I would recommend you to consider the sale and buying a new laptop.

well you see, i started getting used to it but the only thing that keeps bugging me is the awful colors that come with the screen, and i cant seem to find a solution (other than selling the laptop)
