Hi mlg123,
Welcome to Lenovo Community!
May i know the version of your bios and graphic card?
Please make sure you have the latest one. If the problem persist, we can try troubleshoot other things.

I have a Ideapad Y560 less than a month old.
When I close the laptop and open it back up and resume window, the computer will show the "resuming windows" page but will go black on the login page.
I realized that the only the monitor is black and all other things are working because when I connect an external monitor, The external monitor shows everything perfectly, but the laptop screen still remains black.
Please help!! I would appreciate any suggestions or opinions.

try to re-install/update power management/graphic card drivers.
check download for bios update if there's new available.

double-click on the "power management" icon on the lower right-hand side of the screen. double-click on the current power plan. change the current setting to "never" these two options :"turn off screen backlight - turn off screen display"
also, when you see lenovo press f2 for bios and check legacy usb support disabled.

I recently purchased Ideapad Y560 with highest spec (i7-740QM, 8GB Ram) and I am very disappointed with the results.
Couple problems that I am facing:
1. When I open my laptop and resume windows, the "resuming windows" prompt shows up, but the login screen goes black. I know that the computer itself is working because when I connect it to an external monitor, the login windows appears on there. I've done all the suggestions made by yigit (thank you), but the problem persists.
2. Even when the laptop is closed, I sometimes hear the thing turning back on!
Are these problems just for me? or are other customers experiencing similar problems?
Again, very disappointed to be having to complain in forum with less than a month old laptop
Help guys! or I might just return it and settle for a MBP XO
