I have an Ideapad z400 touch with windows10 installed.
Three weeks ago the fan stopped working. I guess it happened after windows atualization, but i'm not sure.
When i use lenovo energy management software and use dust removal tool, the fan works.
I managed to open the notebook and i've seen that the faz stars when the note turns on, but it stops right after and doesnt return tu function even when the computer gets very hot.
I've searched a lot to see if anybody had the same problem, but i didn't find anything.
PS: I took my notebook to an assistance recently, becouse it stopped working. The technician said some chips were burned, and he replaced them. The computer was working well after that.

Hi marcoaqcr ,
Welcome to the Community Forums.
As per Windows 10 upgrade guide :
Similar application such as Energy management and fan control is not designed for Windows 10 on this model.
To prevent another chip burnout and have more years on it , I think it would be better to have it reverted to its original operating system as with applications and drivers it was originally designed and tested for.
Hope this helps.

Is lenovo looking after to develop new drivers for this Notebook?
I'm a programer and i need my software always up to date.
Did i bought an expensive computer just to watch it to be obslote in less then 3 years?
Sincerely, this is the last time i bought anything from lenovo.

Hi marcoaqcr ,
Definitely you would need updated platform for your line of business as Microsoft Windows 10 was not expected at the time of the release of the model similar to most OEM during that time.
Downloading from the Microsoft Store using Lenovo as search would offer Lenovo Settings and Lenovo Companion for Windows 10 may help but there won't be any fan control to be expected . Windows 10 updates (optional) are otherwise offered from Microsoft regarding non supported devices on Win10 when introduced last year.
You may also start a post on Feedback on the support site for query on drivers for availability.
As a fellow user hearing that you had a burned chip, using the pre tested OS , drivers and apps would be my personal suggestion for longer years with the machine. Providing the upgrade guide article is the best answer I have for you aside from trying Lenovo Setting and Lenovo Companion.
Best luck to your endeavors.
