Re: upgrading lenovo ideapad z510

Hi kingphilip,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

It would be best if you can share the details of your machine using the MTM / machine number from the sticker or get it from here. Knowing the specifications of your machine and acknowledging your needs would help you approximate on how far you would like to upgrade things.

Update us soon as convenient.

Regards

Re: upgrading lenovo ideapad z510

Hi kingphilip,

Greetings.

To answer your query for MTM 80A359403399 for usual upgrades, you can upgrade the following but the pricing would depend on your location and brand of choice. It is better if you research locally or visit a service center nearest you.

Current CPU Intel I7-4702MQ 2.2 GHz can be upgraded to Intel I7- 4700MQ with 2.4 GHz

Current 4GB DDR3L can be upgraded to max 16 GB DDR3-1600/1333MHz SODIMM (8GB x 2slots)

Current 1TB HDD to a faster SATA SSD similar here.

Regards

Re: upgrading lenovo ideapad z510

Hi kingphilip,

Greetings.

Like in most laptops, GPU chips are soldered into the board so it cannot be upgraded unless the entire board is replaced. Since motherboards are costly (like buying a new laptop), replacing the board may not be a good option.
