I would like to share my problem hoping to find a useful advice.
mainly i have 2 problems with my laptop first is the Flickering Horizontal Lines which appears suddenly on the screen and secondly my screen sometimes turn to black but all my work and programs is still running; but i can’t see anything as the screen turned black completely.
both problems can be solved by powering off and on again my laptop , but i want to know if i should go to complain about these as my laptop is still in warranty noting that the 2 mentioned issues appears suddenly so i cant proof that i have these problems.
Hoping for assistance and support

Hi Amrradwan ,
Welcome to the Community Forums.
Since the issue would be intermittent , next time that it would happen to best take a picture of the image and likewise try to connect it with an external monitor to check if the same issue would appear.
I would stilll recommend that you call in this issue for documentation purpose and further reference in the future , You may consult tech support for an action plan for this event .

First of all i would like to know if you did upgrade the windows lately or no ?
Secondly , try an external monitor , if the same flickering lines appears so you have a software issue with the GPU ( Graphic Card especialy if you did upgrade your windows lately so u need to reinstall the new Driver comaptible with the New windows ), but if its working well on your external monitor so sure you have a hardware issue with the display itself or hardware issue from the hinges )

I unfortunately do not have assistance for you. I also had this problem. It progressed to the display no longer refreshing (i.e. images fading or burning out). This coupled with the battery failure led me to here. My renewed warranty purchase did not update properly and as such I can't contact the support team directly to try and get my warranty assigned correctly or to get a ticket started to replace this nonsense.

I ran a hardware scan using lenovo solution center , all the test passed except for Geforce GTX 960M stress test , maybe that is the problem but i don’t know what to do then .... Any ideas?

Hi Amrradwan ,
We may have the point of failure here for the flickering ,lines and black display that may not just be the LCD cables.
Similar discussion with same symptoms fixed by updating the BIOS .

If the issue persists, hardware defective is highly detected. Please contact Lenovo local support center for hardware troubleshoot.

Thanks spidey101 for your reply , i updated BIOS & VGA drive as you said.
But i don’t know if that update will solve my problem or not but i am observing what will happen in the coming period because as i said the problem is happening suddenly not constantly so i should wait and see if it will happen again or not and i will feed you back with any updates soon.
But the thing that i can observe is the stress test that didn't change its report after these pdates , it still gives me WARNING sign for the stress test regarding the GeForce GTX960M , is that normal or there is still something wrong ?

I also had a problem with Flickering(thin horizontal lines). I don't know why, but lines appeares only from time to time. Simetimes PC is working with no flickering for 2 days. Sometimes after powering up problem appeares. What i have done:
-installed BIOS V3.03
-installed Intel HD drivers from Lenovo site
-updated drivers for GTX960
-reseat connection between LCD cable and motherboard.
I have read all the threads on community and I have some question:why it only appers for a while and then it is ok. Yesterday I have decided to clean connector between LCD cable and motherboard(it was clean at all). 8 hours later there was even one small line on screen. Toady I have turned on the PC and there was a lot of horizontal lines for 30sek and now is ok. It looks like there is problem with connection, but I'm not sure. Maybe there is something else with software?

Hi Amrradwan ,
If the BIOS and VGA driver update would not be able to resolve it , best that you have it called in tech support for recommendation specially with an error code that can be interpreted by the tools of the etch guys too.

Ok. Now I'm know something else. It depends on power plan. In energy saving mode-its ok, no lines, no flickering. When I switch power plan to balanced or high, lines shows up immedietly. Windows 10 OS, Bios V3.03. Driver for Intel from Lenovo site. Update.
I have clean with alcohol all the shield places on cover, inside laptop; cable from LCD panel to mainboard has shield. originally its connected to hinge by glue. I was thinking that in long time period glue is drying and connection is lost. So i screwd this shield by srecw of hinge. And after turning on PC its ok. I will give response how it is working for a few days.
ps. I have also reseat connection from battery to mainboard-I saw that it was not properly placed, loose. CU!
