I've managed to start pushing the limit of 16GB RAM on my y50-70, so obviously I'm interested in more. When I first got my laptop 16GB was listed as its max capacity for RAM, and Crucial still lists my Laptop as Max 16GB, however that seems to not truely be the case. I was poking around the Lenovo Solution Center and noticed that it listed my Laptop's Max supported memory as 32GB. Interest tickled, I dug deeper into my CPU specs and discovered that 32GB memory is listed in its specs. From what I can gather, 16GB RAM modules didn't really hit the consumer market until around late-summer 2015. This would put it after my Laptop was made so it's possible my Laptop simply wasn't offcially certified for the 16GB modules since they didn't yet exist. Scanning reviews of technically compatible 16GB modules shows people having success using them in other Lenovo laptops from a similar time period as mine. Going by specs of the modules, they match my 8GB modules in pretty much everything except their capacity.
What's the likelyhood that my Laptop actually supports the 16GB SODIMM modules?
