y50-70 Right Temps

Hello! I bought this Laptop few weeks ago and I'm very worried about temps.
I changed thermal paste (arctic silver 5) on both cpu and gpu. While I have no probs GPU wise, CPU temp is 75C° on average. Is it safe? Sometimes it's below that value and sometimes it's around 78-80. I am also using an X3 pad from Cooler Master.
The games I've been testing are Dragon Age Inquisition and Final Fantasy XIV.
I don't usethrottle stop but I did OC my GPU.
Idle temps  are around40-50C°.

Re: y50-70 Right Temps

Idle temps or while browsing should be below 50

Gaming temps should be below 90 (preferably 85)

Re: y50-70 Right Temps

I am still very, very concerned about temps. I have to downclock CPU or i literally get my fingers burning when computer hits 80~ during gaming sessions.

I took few pictures highlightning where it gets insanely hot to the point i find it unbearable. http://imgur.com/a/46SKw

I even repasted with Arctic Silver 5 using both the CC and pea methods. Using pea helped a little more. The whole heatsink just goes on fire and seems like i can't do anything about it.

After further browsing, is it possible that is caused from partial thermal pads tear around the heatsink?

Hi Jowah,

Try to update the graphic driver and check for the issue, also try to update the BIOS and check for the issue.

Click here for the graphic driver for windows 7(32 bit).

Click here for the graphic driver for windows 7(64 bit).

Click here for the BIOS update for windows 7,8,8.1.

Re: y50-70 Right Temps

I have this problem too. I am not sure whether all fans are working or laptop itself like that. I have updated drivers for all hardware.

Every driver is up to date, as well as the bios.

Re: y50-70 Right Temps

Someone suggested me to undervolt the CPU (-60) and limit the multiplier to 29x. It works nice.
Problem is, when I'm on batter even idling or listening to music i have short battery life (1h-1.30h at 60%) and STILL gets hot on the left side.

Re: y50-70 Right Temps

Try dust removal in lenovo settings software atleast for 5 mins. Make dust removal every week via lenovo softwares.  For some people it worked. Heating issues as far as I know is due to GPU & Fan issues.  Make sure both fans are running, not just one. For GPU update driver and enable optimized settings. While game is running make sure Geforce experience is running ,not just driver alone.

Don't change any default settings unless you know consequences.  Buy a cooling pad. Its also a must for gaming laptop.
