y50 fan and keyboard problem

2015-03-10, 1:58 AM

I've purchased a lenovo y50 laptop in November and i've noticed it has been really loud ever since. Recently, i've also noticed that the hard drive was ticking which is quite worrysome. The hard drive also tends to run at 100% for no reason from time to time. As for the keyboard, i've noticed that in the area near the E, F , R and surrounding keys, whenever I press one of them, most of them go slightly down as the base slumps down with the press. This particular area is where I believe most of the heat is comming from and where possibly the processor is. Furthermore the ''up'' key seems to be hard to press compared to the others despite the fact that I've never spilled anything on it. I don't know if the keyboard is simply designed this way, but the hard drive and fan sound issues as well as it's work load is pretty worrying.

I will try to blow some compressed air to see if something is lodged, but I really doubt it as it just sits on my desk and it would be hard for something to get in.

Thank you.

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !

Since you have a new machine with a variety of problems I would recommend you contact Lenovo Support for warranty service.  I would also recommend that you make a back up of any important files you have on the hard drive since the ticking drive could lead to a failure.  You can find the phone number for Lenovo Support in your country or area by using the link below....
