y500 caddy to replace 2nd graphic card?

2014-11-25, 18:18 PM

hey guys,

I am noticing that some of the ultrabay caddys for sale say you must have the optical drive and not the dual graphics card. I have a dual graphics card that I want to replace with an SSD. Can I do this? Do you know of a specific caddy to buy for that?

is there anything specific I need to know about replacing the card for something else?

lenovo y500 with dual Nvidia GeForce GT 650 cards in there.

thanks!

update: here's an example of what I'm talking about, caddy for sale that says not for if you have 2nd graphics card

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2nd-HDD-SSD-hard-drive-caddy-For-Lenovo-IdeaPad-Y500-Y500N-Y510P-/221476253625

"note: the black bracket is not included. But you can also transfer your optical drive's bracket to our caddy. (Your laptop must have an optical drive rather than a 2nd graphics card in Ultrabay)"
