I have a 6 months old lenovo y500 and suddenly the lcd screen has stopped working! It's just black like its shut down. I have hooked the computer up to external screen and everything else seems to be working fine (it boots up into os normally). Going into the device manager it does not show any other screen than the external one.
The screen did stop working couple of days ago but two or three restarts got it working again and it worked fine (no glitches at all) but turning the computer on the next day I was greeted by black screen and no amount of restart or hitting fn+f2 or f3 got it working again. (i did get one or two soft light flashes on the screen but nothing more)
I know it is still under warranty but I bought it in my home country and is now in Japan for a year. Anybody know if IBM/Lenovo have global warranty policy if I need to bring it to service center?
