y5070 OS recovery partition and/or DVD

2019-07-14, 7:21 AM

I accidently formatted my hard drive while installing a linux on my laptop.

Windows is gone, Recorvey partition wiped.

I checked lenovo's website using my serial and my Laptoop is not eligible under the recovery media program.

I approached my local lenove service provider, and in the local lab, they mentioned they could re-install windows but without the recovery partition and with no rescue DVD handed over to me aftrerwards.

This seems highly unreasonable to me, so i though it would be a good idea to consult this forum.

Hi dogst4r,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

What Windows version do you have originally on your machine.

Have you also tried using the ISO images from Microsoft here or here? The product key is usually embedded on the board so it does automatically activates once connected online.

Win7 image may no longer be available but those are ones you can purchase from OEM.

I hope this helps answer your query.
