y510P USB power cycling

Power cycling is the best way I can describe it.

Approximately once a day, my y510p will power cycle all of its USB ports simultaneously, this is the two USB 3.0 ports as well as the USB 2.0 port (which makes things even stranger considering they are on separate controllers). I will lose connection to all devices (for me an external hard drive, USB 3.0 dock, and USB 2.0 mouse) and they will all come up again a moment later as just being plugged in. It is not the same time of day each day. My drivers are up to date. This occurred under Windows 8.1 64-bit and Windows 10 64-bit.

There is also no correlation to whether there is a lot of data moving through the ports or if they are just idle.

Re: y510P USB power cycling

Hi matthewkee ,

Greetings.

Initially start the machine in the BIOS to load defaults F9 , F10 to save and exit.

Check if there is a need to update the BIOS and chipsets comparing it from the support site

If same issue , you can try following trouble shooting steps offered here and here

Compare how it performs if you try setting the power option to full performance .

Update us how it goes.

Regards
