y510p Broken headphone jack

The headphone jack broke so now my laptop thinks there is always headphones plugged in even when I take them out. The headphones still work when I plug them in but I am not able to use the internal speakers when I unplug the headphones. Is there anyway to manually turn off the headphone jack or at least have the sound come through both the headphone jack and the internal speakers?

Hi,

Welcome to the community.

do you have the dolby or the Realtek HD Audio Manager? If you go into which ever and on the Speaker tab, turn the sound off and on again. this will normally allow the sound to jump back to the speakers.

Hope this help you and let us know how you get on

Re: y510p Broken headphone jack

Howdy, thank you for the reply. I have the Realtek HD Audio Manager open but was not able to turn the speakers off without turning the sound off all together. Attached is a screenshot of what I'm looking at. Please let me know if there is something I'm missing.

Re: y510p Broken headphone jack

I also pulled up the sound tab from the control panal but there does not seem to be a seperate icon for headphones, only speakers. Attached is a screenshot of what I'm looking at.
