I have an IdeaPad z510 and just recently it froze on startup. Seriously, when it stated to boot up, the Windows 8.1 loading animation just froze.
The first time it happened I let it sit for about a half of an hour, but it seemed like the machine had just stopped, like the processor fans slowed and the hard disk slept.
I researched for a while and found that this can be caused by a hardware problem - if this is true, can I fix it myself?
I am able to boot my computer into safe mode, so I can access all my files. I tried reinstalling most of my drivers, but that didn't help.
One thing I noticed - I can boot into regular safe mode, but if I try to go into safe mode with networking, it freezes again. Could the network card be the problem?
I ran several malware removal processes, so I doubt that it is caused by a virus.
Also, as I was troubleshooting, I came across these blue-screen errors:
