I've just picked up a new Z580 that came with oem Windows 8. This is my first lenovo laptop. I've searched this forum and found a few useful information on installing windows 7. However, I'm still little confused as how to backup existing Windows 8 image for the future use. Before I do anything with this laptop, I want to make sure I won't have any problems later down the road. I don't mind buying a new Windows 7 disk as long as I can retain the use of Windows 8 in the future.
Can someone post a step by step instruction to backup existing oem windows 8(for later use) and install windows 7 using a disk and reinstall windows 8 if I decide to go back to windows 8(from backup ) ? I've noticed people using onekey recovery to create image of oem windows 8.
thanks in advance.

Step 1. RESTART
Boot computer fresh, press F2 to boot to bios.
Step 2. Edit Bios to setup
(2.a) if you haven't set a Bios password, set it now, you'll need it to access these next menus down.
(2.b) set bios boot type to 'legacy'
(2.c) set boot security / protection to 'disable'
(2.d) set boot order to disk drive first (if using USB, make sure USB boot is enabled and set it as first)
Step 3. Install Windows 7
(3a) Open Disk drive, insert windows 7
(3b) Press F10 Key to save and exit out of Bios
(3c) Boot Windows 7 installer. Delete all partitions on Hard Drive if clearing Win8 off completely.
(3d) Install, pick your languages, and watch the magic happen.
If anyone finds this and has installed rEFIt onto one of these and OSX, please give me a shout.
