3 days after receiving my z580 (win7, i5 3210, 630m) i'm still fighting it. While tshooting an earlier issue i accidentally got rid of all the partitions in the hard drive, and now i can't use my wireless card (which i know was at least detecting my neighbors signals with the original OS). I think that just prior to deleting the original partitions i had used the function keys to disable the wireless card, and somehow that seems to have triggered a hardware switch which i can't seem to find a way to turn back on.
I imagine that installing the osd/hotkey driver should restore that functionality but after trying everything in the z580 downloads page both for win7 and 8, plus some other possibly older lenovo hotkey drivers, i'm still without luck. I really miss the days when hardware switches were actual hardware switches.

you need to install Lenovo Energy Management Driver...

Thanks for the quick reply. I don't have the computer with me at the moment, but i'm 95% i did install that in win8, and it put a little car like icon which allowed me to configure my battery usage, but nothing for the wireless or hotkeys?
I didn't install it in win7 as it was like 1 am, but i can give it a shot.
Are you certain it will help with hotkeys/enabling wifi?

Alelanza, if Win 8 LEM not working properly, please try to use Win 7 LEM for Win 8,

Muchas gracias Zehn! that worked perfectly, so far i had only tried win8 driver on win8. The win7 on win7 worked like a charm, hopefully i'll be going back to win8 soon and testing it there.
Laptop is running like a champ now

I had Z580 with Win8 running LEM 22.214.171.124, had similar problems with WIFI dropping out then disappearing altogether coming out of sleep mode. Just install LEM 126.96.36.199 and restarted will see how this goes. Thanks for the tip.
