z750 restore to factory defaults

2012-04-19, 21:57 PM

I bought a z570 last summer and recently a popup started coming up saying my Windows isn't genuine, even though it is. I've tried several remedies, but nothing has worked. So I am going to try restore the machine to factory defaults. Can anyone explain to me, step by step, how I do this? When I bought it [from the Lenovo site], it didn't come with a recovery disc and to make my own would use too many DVDs. I've already backed up all my files on my external hard drive. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No need to restore to factory defaults. That would be a waste of time, and risk losing personal information. Just run this little program: http://www.demonoid.me/files/details/2884706/44957604/

It's perfectly safe, but you can virus scan it if you want.

There are a lot of other issues too [scroll on touchpad doesnt work, flash player doesn't work, windows update doesnt work]. It would just be easier to go back to the beginning then fix them individually. I have all my important files saved.

Hi there,

i insist on creating the recovery discs nevertheless, it shouldnt take more than 3,4 (tops) DVDS.

When you feel ready to restore, turn of unit completely and press the OKR button (has an arrow on it)

Unit will power on and say "windows is loading files"

A backround with green leafs will appear and three options: select: One Key Recovery

Then: Restore to Initial back up

Make sure unit is plugged in!! Select: Start

and then just wait for it to complete.

Good Luck!!!

:smileywink:
