Feature request: Fix the bug with MAC addresses, so that we have (at the very least) an option to turn off randomisation of the MAC address.

Two requests that I have, after 2 days of usage are.

  • Make it so you can keep the album cover of the song you are listening to on your screen rather than is switching back to the time after a couple of seconds.
  • Make the 'do not disturb' button disappear from the screen when on the clock face.

These are my main suggestions.

I would love a reply!

I’ve had two smart clocks for a week now, mine seems to support Google keep lists, I have two shopping lists in keep and I can add to either. My biggest request would be the smart dashboard, I can turn on both bedside lights with “master bedroom lights on/off” switch on the pull down dash, but I’d really like to be able to only turn on the one light, not both. If there’s only room for one switch, then the device choice should be available in the settings!

Ability to have the " Good morning routine" selected by default when creating an alarm by voice. It defeats the purpose of creating an alarm voice when I have to go in and check that extra box. My alarms are sometimes different everyday so I can't just use the same one.

Feature request / suggestions

2020-07-01, 22:16 PM
Is it worth having a dedicated feature request / improvement suggestion thread? There are various suggestions spread throughout the smart clock / display forum, it would be good to have them all in one place and maybe Lenovo could respond to them? I’ll start the ball rolling, On the Smart Home menu on the clock, pulling down from the screen top, I get access to the smart devices in the room, but they are grouped, all lights on, all lights off. I can use voice to switch them individually, but thinking of the use cases, it’s a late night bedroom device, if two people are in the bedroom, or even two clocks, shouting out “Hey Google turn Darren’s light on” or “Hey google turn Lisa’s light on” is not ideal if Darren or Lisa is asleep., nor is turning all the lights using the silent smart home switch. It would be great to be able to assign in the settings for the clock which device should appear on the smart menu.

Google "Meet"

2020-07-04, 12:45 PM

I recently read that the Google Nest Max has [or will soon get in the UK] the ability to join "Meet" by supplying a valid meeting code. The article also mentioned Lenovo displays with cameras as being likely to support this feature too. Does anyone know if the 8" Smart Display will be getting this, and if so, when ?

just saying "play" and playing randomly from Spotify free should be different... not sure best how, but noticed it does this even if a Chromecast is active (but doesn't see it?) maybe play asks you "nothing is playing, what do you want to play?"

Re:Feature Requests

Just got the smartclock today (currently on sale at walmart for $49) and so far, it's been as advertised.

We have had Google minis since they were introduced and the smartclock audio appears to be functionally identical to the minis... very nice,  fully functional and nothing new to learn.

The reason for the purchase was to replace a clock radio where some of the foil buttons such as "off" were no longer reliable and the one thing in the review that "made" the sale was that the display was suitably dim.  Since we are in a dark area of the country and no visible lights around us, that is a major factor.

The "Timeless" clock face almost fits the bill... it's gray scale and minimal, the dimmest of all of the clock display choices, but for some reason, the second hand is pure white.  In addition to the seconds ticking being distracting when trying to nod off, from more than 3-4 feet away the bright white second hand overpowers and makes the dim minute hand disappear at any brightness.

PLEASE, add an option to "turn off" the second hand on that clock selection!

Thanks in advance... (see, I still have hope ;-)

Beverly Howard

Hi Beverly, In the display settings, by swiping up from the bottom of the screen and selecting the gear icon, you can select to show a Mono clockface when the room is dark, this is very unobtrusive. I’m the same with light in the room, but this mono clock face is really dim at night. Hope this helps, Darren
