Re: Feature Requests

Currently when casting music to a speaker group the volume is adjustable for the group as well as each individual speaker within the group which is great for balancing the sound in a room or even for a group containing all speakers within the house.

However once each of the group's speakers are adjusted the levels are not saved for any subsequent casting to the group.  It seems that the next session will be out of preferred balance if any of the speakers in the group were used singly between the initial settings and any future casting session to the group.

Not a big problem but having a save feature would avoid re-balancing over again particularly on groups with a large number of speakers.

Cheers.

You can say "OK Google | Shut down" - will off the screen.

They really need to have a much lower minimum brightness setting for nighttime.

It is too bright for use as a bedside clock right now (unlike the google hme

assistant,k which gets really dim)

I think the 5.xx update did lower the screen brightness for night time. I have seen it said on the forum that now it is too dim. My feeling is it is dimmer with this update and sometimes I find it too dim. But we are speaking of personal preferences here.

I often use the turn off screen command before I go to sleep. If I need to see the time I can reach out and touch the display or say ok google to wake the display.

I would like to connect my Lenovo to my JBL Charge 3 via Blue tooth. The speaker is right outside and is water resistant unlike the Lenovo.

Being able to connect to a dumb Bluetooth speaker would be very welcome. I agree. I can see the developers wanted to just deal with smart devices and I understand that decision. It just seems it would not be difficult at all to allow connections to dumb Bluetooth speakers.

I think you can connect to a Bluetooth speaker by going into the google home app and settings for the device. I see when I go into the settings for my smart display I have the option to enable Bluetooth pairing. Haven’t tested it out yet but it appears to be available. Make sure you have the most recent update for the google home app.

As far as I can determine it only works if you are trying to set up Bluetooth with another Smart device. At least I have yet to succeed  with a dumb Bluetooth speaker.

Yep. Figured out real quick that I can pair my phone to play audio to the display but can’t pair the display to play audio to another speaker. I have a pool and in the summer I use a waterproof Bluetooth speaker. It would be nice to start a playlist on my display and have the audio output to my waterproof speaker. And while I do have a chromecast audio and could do it that way, that’s hardly convenient as the chromecast audio must be plugged into a power source and it is not waterproof. Hopefully this feature will be enabled in the near future. I do however appreciate that I can pair my phone to play on the display as I currently have an audiobook on the audible app and since audible is an Amazon company (and Amazon and Google don’t play nice), the only way to listen to my audiobook playing through the app and be able to hear it on my display is via Bluetooth pairing.

1. Insane that you can't save your own recipes to the 'My Cookbook'!  What is the point of having a 'My Cookbook', if you can't have your own recipes in it without having to use something like Recipe Chef

2. The device should allow you to use it as a Security Camera Mode while 'Away'.  The camera should be able to detect motion, record some video and send notifications to GMail account.
